Position Type:

Full-Time

Purpose

We are looking for a cell biologist to identify and develop novel ATAK™ cell-based therapies and to translate these findings to the clinic. A successful candidate should have a thorough knowledge and expertise in immune cell biology and assays to characterize immune cell functions. You will work closely with scientists in discovery and translational research group to design novel receptors and characterize the ATAK™ cells in vitro functional assays and animal studies. The position represents an excellent growth and learning opportunity, working closely with experienced scientists in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute studies to generate and functionally characterize ATAK myeloid cells, including but not limited culturing of human myeloid cells and cell lines, transfection, immunophenotyping, phagocytosis assay, cytokine release assays and tumor killing assays.

  • Perform routine injections (sc, ip, iv and po) in mice, monitor animal health, collect blood samples, measure tumors, perform necropsies, and collect and record data.

  • Apply relevant scientific literature to the design of experimental protocols. Make observations, evaluate data, interpret results and document in a well-maintained laboratory notebook and study reports in timely fashion.

  • Present study results of experiments and findings in multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Establish new animal models as needed, including pilot studies for model development, troubleshooting, and model characterization.

  • In a matrix environment, collaborate with team members and coordinate assigned activities with other teams to ensure timely completion.
